Update: Update: Eva Longoria has apologized.
Marshall, MN – National pro-immigrant Republican organization Cafe Con Leche Republicans tonight demanded an apology from Eva Longoria and the Obama For America Campaign.
Bob Quasius, president of Cafe Con Leche Republicans, expressed outrage at a tweet from Eva Longoria: “‘I have no idea why any woman/minority can vote for Romney. You have to be stupid to vote for such a racist/misgynistic twat.’ This comment is truly over the top even compared to other recent comments about prison rape, etc.
Does Eva Longoria think 35% of Latino voters who will likely vote for Mitt Romney are stupid? We find this remark extremely offensive and demand an immediate apology. There are millions of conservative Americans who happen to be women or members of minority groups who will vote for Mitt Romney, and deserve the same respect as those who decide to vote for President Obama.
Ideological conformity based on gender, race, or ethnicity are a form of bigotry, and her commentary reminds us of the venom that has been directed at minority Republicans like Marco Rubio, Michael Steele, and Condoleeza Rice. Apparently many liberals hold these outstanding American leaders in complete contempt for no reason other than that ‘they’ve wandered from the liberal plantation.’
A famous Republican, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., famously said “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Apparently many liberals just don’t ‘get it’ even decades later, though they will gladly hurl race cards at Republicans with feigned outrage. If Dr. King were alive today, we cannot help but wonder if Eva Longoria would be attacking Dr. King with such venom, when she likely owes Dr. King for leading the civil rights movement that won many freedoms and opportunities for success for minorities and women.
We’re surprised that President would select someone as tempermental as Eva Longoria as his national campaign co-chair, but then this is the same president who has made a number of bad hiring choices, and his presidency is coming unraveled because of those leadership failures.”
#####
About Us – Cafe Con Leche Republicans is a national organization of Republicans who welcome “New Americans”, defined as immigrants and family of recent immigrants. Our mission is to make America and the GOP, more welcoming to “New Immigrants” through political activism, “in-reach” and education within the Republican Party, and lobbying government to adopt more immigrant friendly policies. We also seek to bring more conservative and moderate “New Americans” to the Republican Party. These efforts will strengthen the GOP, and lead more Republicans to embrace welcoming policies for immigrants and their families. We have members nationwide, with chapters in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, and California. Our members and leadership are predominantly Hispanic, though we define ourselves by mission and guiding principles, not ethnicity, and we welcome all who share our goals. Our leadership is 100% Republican.

Sounds like a Todd “legitimate rape” Akin style comment!!!!
Why is someone with so little self-control and manners the national co-chair of Obama’s campaign? She needs to apologize.
Why is Todd “legitimate rape” Akin still in Congress ????
What does Todd Akin have to do with milk farming in Bavaria? We don’t support Todd Akin, especially not his “legitimate rape” comment. Stop trying to change the subject. This blog posting is about Eva Longoria and her offensive retweet.
She seems to reflect the temperament of Obama and his staff.
Yes indeed. At least she didn’t blame Bush, though she did try the ‘Weiner defense’ before finally apologizing. In our opinion because of the ‘Weiner defense’ her apology lacks sincerity and she should step down as Obama’s campaign co-chair. Another bad hiring decision by Obama!
Wow, how could someone make such silly remarks about the man who’s going to be her president?
Romney was the clear winner of the debate last night and I’m so tired of the liberals making up excuses for Obama:

Anyway, at least we all know Romney will have the last laugh when he wins the election!
This thoughtful comment is from our Arizona-based blog, TucsonCitizen.com, and I would like to share because it is so well written and sincere:
“As a young Hispanic woman, I am supporting Governor Mitt Romney for president. Why? I agree with him on most major issues. Moreover, Obama just hasn’t done anything to really help this nation.
Sure, Obama supported the Dream Act…however, the law was poorly written and doesn’t truly address the real issues that Hispanic Americans face.
It is nothing more than a bone thrown to Hispanic voters in the hope that we will sell our souls, culture and values out for the continued “do nothing” bones of welfare and/or promises of citizenship for a few college educated family members.
Eva Longoria does NOT represent Hispanic women. She is a rich Hollywood elitists who has long since forgotten her Corpus Christi/Tejano roots.
While she was married to Tony Parker, they were pulled over for speeding while driving in San Antonio. The cop was a young Hispanic man.
Eva Longoria decided to spew racist language at the cop, telling her husband that the cop was “just another stupid Mexican.”
This woman disgusts me. She has gotten by on her looks…but not kindness, goodwill or intelligence. This woman graduated with a Kinesiology (P.E. teacher) degree but thinks that she is an expert in politics, history and Hispanic studies.
Eva Longoria shares little in common with those of us who have struggled throughout our lives.
I spent my childhood as a migrant farm worker. My parents still do not speak English. When he wasn’t working the fields, Papi worked as a part-time janitor at a Walmart Super Center. Yet, my parents worked hard (and encouraged us to work hard) so that we could achieve success in life.
As a result, all nine of my siblings and I have graduated from college with at least a Bachelor’s degree. Five of us are teachers.
Unfortunately, we are the type of people that Eva Longoria will label “just another stupid Mexican.” Why? If you don’t cater to her or agree with her views, we are all just a bunch of “stupid Mexicans.”
Eva Longoria supports things that are at odds with most Latinas. She supports ABORTION ON DEMAND. She supports HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE. She supports peddling commercial PORNOGRAPHY as a “fundamental right of speech.” She makes fun of churches and pretends that almost every priest or pastor is a pedophile. She regularly frowns at religious freedoms when it comes to adhering to your faith in public.
So, no, Eva Longoria doesn’t represent Latina women. She doesn’t even share the same values or goals that most of us adhere to. She even mistreats and mocks Hispanic Americans who don’t embrace her liberal views.
Oddly enough, Governor Romney shares more in common with traditional Hispanics than Eva Longoria. Mitt Romney was born in Mexico to a hard-working farm worker. They immigrated to the United States and lived in El Paso trying to make ends meet. Mitt eventually worked on farms and at a car lot and eventually went to college.
I would rather follow Mitt Romney’s path…and share his values…than the sellout path of Ms. Longoria or one of her husbands. “
Just heard about Eva Longoria’s “desparate outburst” on the Fox News channel, what a shame. As a conservative, I know that “intelligent” Latinos/Hispanics will not use vulgarity to make a point, as Eva Longoria has done; who is the stupid one now? This woman is not the brightest Latina/Hispanic actor in Hollywood and her manners will certainly not earn her a leading role in a potential award-winning movie. A radio talk show host referred to such women as “cookie cutter liberals.” It is so embarrassing that she would be allowed to represent Latinos/Hispanics, especially women; she is the one who makes us seem stupid (maybe that is the reason she was selected for that post). Please ask her to step down, she’s quickly becoming a liability to her race and her political party.
Eva should be fired, post haste. If a Republican co-Chair, let alone a surrogate, made those kinds of statements against minorities who vote in support of Obama, they would not only be fired, but the media would be all over it. In fact, they would also ask why it took them so long to respond to her statement. The mere fact that this isn’t getting the attention it deserves, proves without doubt that the liberal media protects its own and are hypocrites. As long as the ends justify the means, do as I say, and not as I do.
Hollywood liberals can tolerate anything as long as it is what they believe. If you dare to be different or think for yourself, you are stupid or any other derogatory adjective they want to brand you with.
SO – some folk believe that this woman SHOULD be FIRED for her remarks !!!
SO WHY – has Todd “legitimate rape” Akin still in Congress ????
WHY has Todd “legitimate rape” Akin been allowed to spread his STUPID CONCEPTS of Women’s biology – throughout the BLOGO SPHERE ?????
I believe that Todd “legitimate rape” Akin HAS OFFENDED – FAR MORE FOLK – with HIS SEXISTS COMMENT than Eva has offended – UNLESS, of course – SOMEONE WANTS to TRY to CLAIM – that there are MORE Latinos – that there are WOMEN !!!!!
Just go ahead – and try to MAKE that CLAIM !!!!!!!
